| ...a Gifts From A Distance store | | | Collectibles | Home » » Stuff on My Cat: The Book | | | | | | | Product Promotions: | | | | | Description: | | It began with a handful of digital photographs of office supplies, toys, and spare computer parts thoughtfully placed on Mario Garza's snoozing cat, Love. Over time, the objects became bigger: remote controls, shoes, empty pizza boxes. And then cat owners everywhere were sucked into the Internet phenomenon that is defined by a simple motto: stuff + cats = awesome. From Stuffonmycat.com (the amazingly popular website that redefines hilarious and that was named one of the coolest sites of the year by Yahoo! And GQ magazine) comes Stuff On My Cat: The Book. Culled from the thousands of outrageous photographs submitted by mischievous animal lovers, here are 200 of the most unbelievably entertaining images of cats with all manner of things on them: wigs, Easter eggs, dogs, cheeseburgers, cookware, gummi bears, action figures, tiaras, beer cans, pinecones, a statue of the Buddha, and much more. An introduction by the site's creator explains the Stuff on My Cat philosophy, and playful illustrations and graphics are sprinkled throughout. Just try to keep a straight face. | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

Some very funny picturesSep 12, 2006
By Gavin Scott What do you get when you combine the recent spate of books of humorous dog and cat pictures with the Internet phenomenon of Snakes on a Plane?
Stuff on cats.
The cover image is one of the best, but there are a few more in there that make the book worthwhile. I picked this up at a bookstore the other night and was laughing out loud over it.
It looks like the author sent out a request for people to send in "pictures of stuff on your cat" and as a result quite a number of the pictures are just of grumpy looking cats with rubber ducks (or whatever) piled on them, so some of it is generic "funny cat pictures" that are just ok.
It's a great gift item just for the cover and the title / concept that will bring a smile to the face of almost anyone.
The funniest cat picture book since "Why Paint Cats".

DisappointingApr 27, 2007
By Seth Klein If you have the Internet none of the pictures are that great. Many of the pictures are online or have been done better since. The paperback is too small to enjoy the collection pages (they display 20 or so pictures on one page). You can get this for someone that doesn't have the Internet, but the paperback isn't good enough so you would need to find a hardback; but I couldn't see paying the price.

So funnyJun 13, 2009
By S. Schwarz This book is so funny. We bought them for our cat loving Mothers for Mother's Day. They both loved them and had a great chuckle.

VERY DISAPPOINTEDJan 31, 2007

....and am really sorry to have to say so. I am a huge fan of the website, but this calander just doesn't cut the mustard. The featured photos are NOT representitive of the laugh out loud stuff you find on the website. My gripes?
1) Most months feature only 1 large photo, most of which are neither funny nor cute - so if you don't like the pic you are stuck looking at it for an entire month. Who the heck selected those pix??
2) The other pages have a 4 photo collage, these have better pix and should you not care for one you have 3 others to choose from. :-)
3) If I'm going to shell out $12 bucks for a calander it would be nice to have a peek at whats in it, ALL 12 months, not just 1 or 2.
I was so excited to finally have one of these (I'm on a budget, this was a big deal), and now I wish I'd just picked up a cat calander at the 99 Cent Store. ;-p Better pix and more collages next year please Mario!
Great Book! Horrible binding!!Feb 10, 2010

"Love to Stack my Cat with Stuff"
I absolutely love this book's content - hence the two stars for that - would give it 5 on that. But the binding deserves none. The book fell apart the day after I got it. The cover fell off and the glue that was used to hold the pages together in the back is peeling off - looks sort of like dried caulk - rubbery. Anyway, I plan on trying to fix it with some hot glue because for the price it wasn't worth going through sending back....and the content is just so fun.
