squeeky is a sweetie.. love this cute taleJun 21, 2010 this is a cute tale of a stray talkitive cat that works her way into a young couples life. Squeeky has a personality as big as Texas and a demanding personality to boot. This is a great little tale to read. It will make you think of friends you have had over the years and loved.
I am thinking of my cat Sam the Battering Ram and Freddie the Freeloader.
A great memoir to a cute kittie.

VERY FUNNY BOOK, BUT SAD @ THE ENDJun 11, 2010 This is an easy book to read - 1 or 2 days. The author's sense of humor is great. I found myself laughing out loud. I like the drawing of the door w/ the cat ears above the window pane. Great book.
Of course with any book like this there is the sad ending. Cats & dogs don't have the life span that humans have, so in 11-20 years, the time comes. I know several people who refuse to own another pet for this reason. This book brought back memories as 7 yrs ago we had a beautiful black cat that died of renal failure after living 16+ years. Cats & dogs were given personalities that can really amuse & baffle a person. Sadly though, sooner rather than later, they're gone. Hopefully our experience with them makes us better people.

Yesterday we buried a beautiful gray cat named Sheba. She died of kidney failure, but it came on so suddenly that none of us was expecting it. She was only 8 1/2 years old. Maybe some day I will find another one to love, but not right @ this time. She was just too special.

Squeeky will steal your heartMar 27, 2010 What a heartwarming story! I laughed, I cried, I nodded in recognition when the author described various "Squeeky" behaviors. My cat does that, too! Mr. Rescovic is a genius at portraying cat behavior and human behavior in a laugh-out-loud style.

Wonderful, humor-filled memoir of a lovely kittyOct 20, 2009 This book is full of passion and humor. As a person who is owned by two cats, I can relate to the bond between the author and his cat. It's funny when the author first encounters this stray cat; the cat wriggles and snuggles her way into his house, finally achieving a name, "Squeeky." What was supposed to be just a temporary stay turned into over 19 years of love, care, and purring.
My only reservation is that Squeeky was allowed to be an "indoor/outdoor" cat. My own kitties are indoor only; this is because there are too many dangers out there: autos, FeLV, FIV and other diseases, and even cat-kidnappers. Fortunately, Squeeky didn't get victimzed by outdoor dangers. Even with this reservation, I still recommend the book.
